Tuesday's Historical Society's meeting is open to the public with a special program featuring Mrs. Virginia Glenn speaking on R.W. "Doc" Shilling's 1940s books The Stories of Yellow Creek & The Tales of Yellow Creek. Both books were historic stories of the very early days of how our area got settled and are no longer in print. Mrs. Glenn, along with husband Curt, recently combined both books into to one for republication. The new books will be available for purchase at the River Museum. As a bonus, the Glenns are exhibiting the painting Standing Rock by Richmond artist David Barnhouse.

Thursday's Crime Watch Committee will feature WPD Juvenile Office Marsha Eisenhart speaking on the DARE Program. The DARE Program is a drug awareness program for school children. Officer Eisenhart will be available for any questions on this most important program.

Seems like everyone wants to meet on the third Thursday of the month.

Saturday's Rabies Clinic is rescheduled from June 5. The originally scheduled clinic was postponed because of threatening thunder storms a couple of weeks ago. Shots will be administered by doctors & staff of the Community Animal Clinic and are $10 each.

Have a good week....

Ooppps! Good rule of thumb: double check if Nib wrote it down right before hanging up... My bad. Thanks for clarifying.

Are the Band Boosters meeting July 1 with the Reunion going on? That's the same evening as the Athletic Hall-of-Fame induction. They're using the Band Room for a reception.
