History Class Tours River Museum

This past Thursday a group of over 30 Sixth Grade students toured the River Museum as guests of the Wellsville Historical Society. According to Language & Arts teacher Lisa Smith Wellsville history was part of their curriculum at Daw Middle School. Ms. Smith said she created the Wellsville history segment as part of her lesson plan using information from the late Edgar Davidison's book "Before Memory Fades". Davidson was one of the founders of the local Historical Society. His book covers Wellsville history from its early beginning up through 1950. Davidson's book is available at the River Museum.

The history students were split up in smaller groups and tours were conducted by Historical Society Brassy & Bonny Beresford, Joan & Tom Davidson, Teresa Pullie and Jim Lawrence.

Group tours can be arranged by calling 330-532-3941 or 330-532-1018. The museum is open every Sunday afternoon from 1 to 4:30 P.M. for the season. Members of the Historical Society have decorated the museum with memorabilia of Wellsville alumni in honor of this year's All-Class Reunion.
