WVFD Fireman's Homecoming Closes Out
Bringing back a tradition that was began last year, the annual Wellsville Volunteer Fireman's Homecoming was capped off with a fire works display. Years ago when the carnival was held at the 13th Street ball park it was always closed out with fire works. Then the park was taken away for the building of the new high school.
Three years ago the volunteers brought back the annual homecoming. Last year they brought back the fire works. It's the volunteers way to say thanks to all that supported them by coming to the carnival.
Covering the parade and the contests between the different departments afterwards we were just too plumb tuckered out to go back for the fire works. That didn't mean we didn't remotely cover them though. Some of the rockets were clearly visible from our vantage point at 6th & Commerce as shown above.
Thanks to all the volunteers that worked so hard to put this year's homecoming together and thanks to all that supported our fire fighters.
