Tuesday - June 8: The monthly breakfast meeting was held last Tuesday at Tonda's Place with scant attendance. Pastor Troy Warner, President, presided. Warner noted he knows full well the demands of the ministry will sometimes take precedent over the monthly meeting. Warner added WAMA has some churches without pastors and some that have pastors in transition. However WAMA membership is not restricted to just pastors. Membership is open to anyone interested in networking with other congregations and lay members are welcome.
The two show, one day performance by the Kelly Miller Circus was a huge success. Both shows were very well attended giving a nice boost to the WAMA treasury. Thanks was given to all that supported this event and consequently supporting future WAMA activities.
This year's Paint-the-Town is temporarily on hold with no one coming forward to chair the committee and no group volunteering. This project is a WAMA community beautification undertaking. Each year they solicit funds for paint and equipment and then select three or four houses in town that are in need of painting. The houses are selected from a list of nominations and are targeted for owners that are either physically or financially unable. It is their way to help an elderly or disabled resident that can no longer to do the actual painting or someone who simply can't afford to have it done.
There will be no July meeting due to all the activities and vacations. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 10 at 9 A.M. at Tonda's Place.
