Memorial Day - Part 2 - The Parade

Following the Memorial Day opening ceremonies came the parade. It forms up at the 4th Street Square and proceeds 1oth St. In the old days they marched all the way to the cemetery but in modern times the band is bussed up the hill.

Pictured here are some of the parade participants. Even though brief there are still folks that line the street to see the parade go by. It was a taste of nostalgia seeing Hillcrest resident Don Dodson and his grandson Dante in Don's decorated antique roadster.

Members of the WVFD were able to wear their dress uniforms after getting a night's rest. Last year they barely made it in their fall-out gear after an all night search & rescue mission down in the Pits.
