WHS Alumni Acitivities Committee

Tuesday - August 3: The WHS Alumni Activities Committee met Tuesday evening at the Alumni Center. Activities Committee President Kenny DeLauder presided. The meeting was held following the Wellsville Village Council Meeting to discuss what Council members had offered in regards to the bill received for providing security during the All-Class Reunion. See our post of earlier today on the Activities Committees meeting this past Monday. There was a total of seven Alumni Activities members present at both the Village Council meeting and the subsequent meeting at the Center.

The Village Council went into an Executive Session with Kenny DeLauder, Carmela Boyce, WPD Chief Joe Scarabino and Fiscal Officer Dale Davis. No comment was made when Council returned to resume the meeting.

DeLauder & Boyce reported that a compromise was reached pending approval of the members of the Alumni Activities Committee members. It was noted that extra security was not requested for the reunion and that the Committee had already agreed to make a $2,000 donation for the security services rendered.

It was also reported that Council had agreed to settle the bill for what it cost the Village to use the extra part-time officers in the reunion detail. The part-time officers supplemented the full time officers that would mostly have been on duty regardless if there had been a reunion or not.

In a spirit of cooperation on both sides it was agreed to settle the bill for a total of $2,342. The vote was unanimous by the committee members present to pay the amount negotiated with the Village Council members.

The next Alumni Activities Committee meeting is schedule for Tuesday, September 7 at 7:30 P.M. at the Alumni Center.

Alumni Committee:
Next reunion you should have
private security. It would be
better anyway. That is, if
Lt. Wilson, allows you to have a
reunion.

IT'S SAID THAT THE PEOPLE OF WELLSVILLE DO NOT SUPPORT THERE LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT. THOSE PEOPLE SHOULD BE ASHAMED !!!!

IT was not up to Lt. Wilson, remember Joe Scarabino is still the "chief" and it had to go through him.

People of the Village should support their PD. For the number of officers we have and what they are paid we are very appreciative of the top notch job they do. Their dedication to doing their duty often is above & beyond what is required of them. You don't have to look far from the Village limits to see what an outstanding job they do compared to some other communities. Wellsville is blessed to have these corp of officers.

Irregardless who is Chief there is still a budget to work with and no one in the WPD controls that aspect.

Eddie didn't say there would be no reunion. You need to ask him what was said and it isn't what was posted on facebook

I stand by my statement on facebook. Eddie said he was going to "Put an end to ALL this bullshit" when he takes over for Scarabino. He said this directly to me & my brother. What else could he have meant? He can spin it any way he wants now. I have nothing to gain by spreading lies. That's the FAX!

hootch2 - did you actually ask what he meant by that or are you just assuming what he meant? It was extremely hot, both of you had a merchant chewing on your ears and you weren't feeling top notch. Add all that to the stress & pressure of getting set up & it wasn't pretty. As my father-in-law, God rest his soul, use to say "some people will bitch with a loaf of bread under each arm". Don't know if that was a quotation from his Irish heritage or from him growing up through the Great Depression. You never knew with Frank.

It was a great reunion. You know as well as anyone there's always a glitch or two and you, your family and others on the Alumni Activities Committee made it all work. You should well be proud of what you accomplished. It was fantabulous!

WHEN LT WILSON SAID PUT AN END TO ALL THIS BULLSHIT, HE WAS TALKING ABOUT THE LIGHTS BEING TURNED OFF AND YOU AND YOUR BROTHER NOT PUTTING UP THE OTHER LIGHTS LIKE YOU PROMISED TOO.

Again you are wrong. He made his statement as soon as he arrived on Tuesday morning at 9:30 am. This was before any mention of lights being turned off was even mentioned. He was pissed because he was going to have to get out of the cruiser and direct traffic while we positioned the stage.

Everything Hootch2 said, is accurate.
If your name isn't Hootch, Lew, or Eddie, you don't know what your talking about because you weren't there. But it really doesn't matter now, the matter has been resolved, and both sides are satisfied. Lets move on! P.S. Just because you don't agree with everything certain members of the WPD say or do, doesn't mean you don't support the police department as a whole.
