Thursday starts three days of festivities at the SOI's Annual Italian-American Festival with lots of food and entertainment each evening. Wellsville's Route 45 Band closes out Friday's night of entertainment when they take the stage at 9:30 P.M. The SOI will be awarding two $1,000 scholarships to WHS seniors at 6 P.M. on Saturday night followed by singer Molly Sue Gonzales. Joe LaScola's good friend Italian singer Aaron Caruso takes the stage at 8 P.M. Saturday. All three nights feature Italian music mixed in with the other acts mentioned.

The Columbiana County Fair runs all seven days this week at the Lisbon Fair Grounds. They close it out next Sunday.

The Potter Players open with two one-act plays Friday night at the theater at 8 P.M. The first is a comedy that will have you rolling with laughter especially if you have ever served on a committee of any kind. The second will have you trying to figure out who done it with a murder. Both plays will be repeated on Saturday and again the following week-end with a Sunday matinee on August 15.

The Wellsville Historical Society will formally dedicate the Victorian Parlor in the River Museum to honor the late Mrs. Mary Clark. Mrs. Clark was a long time member and very dedicated to the Society. The ceremony is open to the public.

The Fourth Annual Mathugh Johnson Memorial Golf Scramble will be Saturday, August 14, out at Cedar Hills Golf Club. They are taking reservations now for any teams wishing to participate. Entry fee covers golfing, food, drinks and prizes. All proceeds go toward the Mathugh Johnson Scholarship Fund awarded to WHS seniors each year. Call 330-532-1627 to register.

Have a good week...
