Riverside Looking East

Here's another before & after look at the same spot. This is a view at 9th & Riverside. The top picture is from another post card. This one was found on e-bay. There's no date on this one but it appears to be the same vintage as other ones with dates that go back to the early 1900s. Again we tried to duplicate the same angle.

Riverside was an unpaved street back then. From the scene on the old postcard it doesn't appear to have been used much back then at that end. The first two houses from the corner are the same ones that are there today. The white one with the columns has the year 1842 above the front door.

We're beginning to wonder whether the same photographer didn't go all around town taking different pictures for these postcards. Except for the location they are all very similar. They were all printed in Germany. Thanks Carmichaels for letting us share this.
