Italian Festival XIII

It starts tonight - the 13th Annual Italian Festival. Sponsored by the S.O.I. it is held on Main Street from 3rd to 4th Street. Chairmen for this year's festival is S.O.I. President Rocco DaLonzo & V.P. Joe Traina.

Opening ceremonies start at 6 P.M. with Steve Creature handling the Master-of-Ceremony duties. The Frank Gallo Band takes the stage at 6:15. Following the Gallo Band is that shoe salesman from Calcutta. Jim Sabatini is scheduled to take the stage at 9:30.

As shown above the stage is set, the balloons are ready to launch the three day festival and most of the food vendors are ready to serve up some of those festival favorites. Members of the S.O.I. will also be serving some traditional Italian dishes just like "Mama" use to make. Admission to the festival is open to the public and it's free. Temporary S.O.I. memberships will be available to let you inside.

It's a good time to get together with old friends and neighbors and enjoy the entertainment. Lot's a people are coming in to enjoy this fun time in the old hometown. One couple that came in from Florida told me the weather is just right - no humidity with lots of sunshine.

Voir vous la. Bon par pour maintenant...
