With temperatures in the low 40s and gusty winds the WHS Baseball Season got started this past Monday. Both the Lady Tigers & the men's baseball team had their home openers hosting Sebring up in Hammonds Park. Then Tuesday they traveled to Sebring for their second and last games for the week.
The men dropped their home opener by a score of 12-1 and lost at Sebring 21-0 on Tuesday. We have no idea what the final was for the softball games. With the cold conditions we only lasted about two innings and nothing was reported to the newspapers for the Ladies.
A double header for both teams on Saturday was canceled for wet weather and field conditions. The Tiger Ladies will return to action today, weather permitting, at Southern Local. Southern does not have a mens team this year – not enough athletes to make up a team. Both teams will host Crestview on Friday at home.
