Maple St. Garage Fire

Shortly after 8 P.M. last night the renovated fire siren went off for a garage fire of undetermined origin at the Crawford residence on Maple St. here in town. It was reported to be fully involved by the time the call came in. The garage is located behind the Crawford house.

Fortunately no one was injured and no residences suffered any major damage in the closely spaced area around the garage. It appeared that the most serious damage was to siding on two residences. The garage is a brick structure and it appeared that everything inside was lost along with most of the frame work supporting the roof.

Kudos to the ville's fire fighters for preventing an unfortunate incident from turning into a disaster. Pictured above are fire fighters checking for hot spots between the eaves and roof.
