Alley Cat Aid Brigade Pet Food Give-away

Last Saturday, April 25, the angels of the ACAB had their monthly give-away of pet food at their facilities on Commerce St. Although donations of pet food is down for some undetermined reason Connie Carmichael said they were able to take care of all that came. They gave the last of what was on hand out around 1 o'clock. People were lined up and waiting for them to open in front of their decorated work in progress building.

Connie told me they are decorating the front of the building in a "folk art" theme as seen above. Stop by and look at it sometime. It's unique. Getting that bicycle mounted proved to be very challenging.

This time they had a couple of new angels that showed up to help bag food. Special thanks to Lela & Sandy.

The next give-away is up in the air. Hopefully they will have enough food to hold one later this month. It all depends on what they get in.

The angels have started this year's Trap-Neuter-Release for feral cats in the village. They have been out three times now and rounded up 10 cats so far. They took this week off to get things lined up for the Old Gray Mayor's benefit game tonight at the high school. They plan to be back at it next week. If you can volunteer some time to help trapping the cats and transporting them give any one of the angels a call. They go out on Mondays.

Also in the planning stage is a Community Victory Garden for the area next to the building. The idea is to provide garden space for folks that would like to have a garden but don't have room for it at their homes. You can rent space for one down there. We'll pass on details as soon as they become available.

Thanks ladies...
