Wellsville Library Presents Cartoonist

Thursday - April 8: This past Thursday evening the Wellsville Library hosted a cartooning program for children of all ages. Elementary teacher Jeff Nicholas brought his program "Creatoonity" to town for one hour of very entertaining rhyming, humorous, original stories while teaching the basics of cartooning.

Nicholas has 32 years elementary teaching into his art and writing. For the past 14 years he has taken his program on the road evenings and week-ends entertaining and teaching in over 130 cities & towns in Ohio, West Virginia and Michigan. Nicholas uses easy to understand step-by-step drawing instruction along with his original stories to capture the student artist's imagination. Using circles, triangles and squares as beginning steps, Nicholas' easy to follow along instructions are appealing to audiences of all ages.

Pictured above is Jeff Nicholas telling rhyming stories about the Bi-polar Bear and the Roof Top Viking to his captivated audience of budding cartoonist. One four year old lad's ability to follow along with excellent results was very impressive. Thanks to the Friends of the Library and the Library staff for their continuing efforts to make Wellsville's Carnegie Library a vital part of our community. We will have more on additional programs being planned for young and old later or you could stop by to check out what's coming up.
