Chamber-of-Commerce Installation Dinner

Wednesday - December 9: With the New Year coming soon the Wellsville Chamber-of-Commerce held their annual Installation Dinner Wednesday evening at the Riverside Roadhouse. The dinner was attended by 26 people.

President Randy Allmon thanked all members present for the great year the Chamber had in 2009. Allmon was re-elected as the 2010 President. Allmon also welcomed new member, 16 year old Noah Allison. Allison is a student at Southern Local and has his own business called Allison Contracting. He also partners with his father, Mark, in another business. Allmon also reported that a Chamber donation has been given to Care & Share in the Village.

Shown here Erin Roberts-Orr presented Allmon with a plaque of appreciation for his service the past year. Orr remarked that 99% of what was accomplished in '09 wouldn't have been done without him.

Mayor Joe Surace remarked that, while attending services this past Sunday at the New Life Hope Ministries, Bishop Bill Rudder told him that people all over the world are praying for Wellsville. Rudder said that through a prayer chain passed along the invocation circles the globe according to the Mayor. The Mayor also said that members of that church will be beginning a fast next week and will include the Village in their prayers. Surace said the Bishop believes something big will take place in Wellsville during the fasting period and he was touched.

Following dinner the Mayor issued the oath of office, as shown here, to the 2010 officers and members of the Board-of-Directors that were present. The directors sworn in, from the left, are Byron Carter, Erin Orr, Paul Blevins, Dolly Brophey, Brian Wallace and Vicki McCombs. The 2010 officers from the left are Mayor Joe Surace, Diana Spencer, Sheryl Gibson, Jim Saracco, Majorie Dysert, Randy Allmon and Linda Surace. Mrs. Dysert was one of the original founders of Wellsville's Chamber-of-Commerce a "few" years ago. The Mayor is actually on the Board-of-Directors.

Noah Allison is a Wellsville student. The Review had this wrong too, which is probably where you got your information. His Mother, Darlene, is also a teacher in our District. He is quite the worker and maybe our next millionare !!

Thanks for the correction. Our apologies to Noah. We knew Mrs. Allison is one of Garfield's educators and that Noah has an older brother at WHS.

Mark & Darlene must be very proud of this young man. When I was 16 I was more like the teen age comic strip character in Zits. I had great talent for sleeping the time away!
