McClelland's Hissy

Front page news in this morning's MJ is the story that former Wellsville councilman and fiscal officer John McClelland has filed a complaint with the Ohio Elections Commission about Mayor Joe Surace's discount prescription card. McClelland alleges that Surace used the cards for political communication, made false statements and conducted unfair political practices.

The cards came out in early October and at the time Surace stated they had nothing to do with his re-election campaign. Surace also stated the cards were something he had been trying to get for Wellsville residents for a year. Nowhere on the card or the enclosed letter did it say "Vote for Surace" or anything pertaining to "Surace for Mayor". Nowhere on the card, the letter or the envelope. The card had his likeness, his name and title. It said "Mayor Joe Surace, Wellsville, OH". If you think it was for campaign purposes that's your opinion. Surace said it wasn't.

McClelland also alleges in his complaint that Surace used campaign funds to purchased postage stamps and and pay for copying expenses. Surace said he used the stamps to send out thank-you notes to campaign supporters. Mrs. Surace mistakenly said the stamps were used to send out invitations and thank-you notes. Saying they were for invitations was obviously in error. The fund raiser was held in July. From her comments as quoted by the reporter Mrs. Surace was apparently and rightfully upset. With the recount looming and the police investigation report I think it would be safe to say things are a little tense on Commerce Street.

McClelland is apparently upset that the 2002 state audit report on the fiscal emergency was brought out in the closing moments of the campaign. McClelland was in office back then. Even though a council meeting has nothing to do with the campaign McClelland was at the last one to bring the 2002 report and the discount cards up. He was gaveled down and has now taken his tantrum to the next level. The last council meeting was the day after the election.

Who made John McClelland judge & jury? Is he going to let this juvenile venom continue to tear this village apart for some kind of personal satisfaction? We have enough real problems. We don't need McClelland's personal nonsense.

Get a life John. You've shown us enough. It doesn't always go your way. Quit playing the grammar school yard "I'll get you back" card. If you're not going to be part of the solution - get lost.

Key word ole Nib,"former". You got it there, do they. Bon fire tonight everyones coming, Dinch, Mccleland, any others?

My question is this: Why is John so angry. The votes havent even been certified and we dont know who won the Mayors race yet. Was John to be part of the adm. and now feels that is gone, or what. I like John, and I always have felt he did a good job in his capacity as councilman and fiscal manager. I dont understand this venom. I agree he is ripping the town apart for what seems no reason.

My God, this writers strike has hit all the way to Wellsville. Matt had to write his own satire, and if anyone finds that funny, they would laugh at their own mother dying. Hopefully, the strike will be over soon, and the real ORL writers will be back with their hateful, backstabbing comments about the Mayor and Wellsville. We will all feel better, and life can go on as usual. Just a suggestion to Matt:
PLEASE STOP WITH THE SATIRE, YOU ARENT GOOD AT IT.

This town has been tearing apart the last 4 years, you are just now seeing it. Why Nib, is John such a bad guy because he calls our mayor out on a lie? You condone this behavior? You think he should use campaign funds to mail out the non-election prescription discount cards? The fact is the dates the stamps were purchased coordinate with the post mark dates on the envelopes in which they were mailed. Why does the mayor feel the need to lie to the people? Just be honest! Hell, why didn't he use the cards for re-election in the first place? I can at least respect an honest man, but not a liar. Sorry Nib, you are way off on this one. Shame on anyone who doesn't believe that any voter or taxpayer has the right to ask questions or challenge things that aren't on the up and up. Shame on the mayor for thinking people are stupid enough to believe this latest trick. You go John!

Anonymous said...

The mayor race has nothing to do with any of this. Surace may have lied to the people and that is what the issue is.

Anonymous said...

Wow, I thought that John would be really busy selling those pictures for the Eddie Wilson Defense Fund. How does he find the time to do all this. Those pictures must be selling like hot-cakes since it is so close to the holidays.

The cards werent election material. The real contention here is THE PERFORMANCE AUDIT. Everyone knows that. If it wasnt for the audit, the Mayor probably would have been beat hands down. But the audit crossed up the Lloyd people and they had to scramble. It was no longer 2 to 1 Lloyd. They dont even know if they won yet, but victory was torn from their hands by THE PERFORMANCE AUDIT. Therein lies the whole problem. Also, I wish Matt would find another coffee shop in the Liverpool scene as he calls it. Those people are my relatives, and they dont like him, and I certainly dont, and dont want to look at him when I want to go in to see my Aunt and Uncle. Have your coffee somewhere else. I hete you.

Maybe now you people will value my brand of sarcasm. At least it has comedic value. I was searching for the humor in Matt's post but found only a bitter sense of LOSS. I AM THE KING OF MY KIND! Please leave the sarcasm to the professionals. And enjoy it while it's free. I would hate to have to start charging a fee for my post.

WRITERS STRIKE HITS ORL..A desperate attempt to write satire fell short today on the ORL blog. Except for a few feeble minded ORL faithful, most readers found the post to be poorly written and lacking any kind of humor.
Writer and satirist Dorothy Parker was quoted as saying, "I could do better than that and I've been dead for 40 years."
It is hoped that the writer's strike will soon be over so the real writers can get back to work and stop the suffering of innocent readers.

Matt, how many times do you need to be told you are not funny. Stick to hate mongering, you are much better at that.

After further review....
After posting several times on this and his own site that "I have a lot of friends in Wellsville", an exhaustive search was conducted and the only "friends" of Matt Stewart in Wellsville were provisional friends. And therefore are not counted.

That's the point...it SHOULD have had a disclaimer because it very obviously WAS campaign material.

As for who made John McClelland judge and jury: HE IS A TAXPAYER who has every right and OBLIGATION to question this matter.
As for the council meeting not having anything to do with the election, GET REAL! For God's sake, where else is anyone going to question the man? He avoids people like the plague.
The performance audit had nothing to do with John and had NOTHING to do with this campaign material put out by the mayor. He's on his own on this one.

You idiots don't know good satire when you read it. That was one of the funniest pieces Matt has ever written and quite true if you knew how to read between the lines, which you obviously DO NOT.
As for John Mc. "being so angry" and "tearing the town apart," give me a break.
He is doing what every single citizen in town should be doing: QUESTIONING YOUR MAYOR!

I don't know that I have ever read anything more childish or petty on both this and matt's blog put together. How old are you, about 12?
If this is the way your "relatives" think, I, too, will never set foot in their door (and believe me, I am no fan of Matt's).
This is just the attitude that keeps business from thriving in ELO...childish, petty, narrow-minded, clannish people.
They just lost a customer (besides matt, who I'm sure will make it a point to go in and frequent your "relative's" tea room now, just to piss them off.
Sometimes you people are so absolutely stupid. You just egged him on.
You have very aptly named yourself "crybaby."

Anonymous said...

John, you caused yourself all kinds of problems, and now you are doing it again. To take this road, you are just another Matt Stewart. Don't think Matts hands are so clean either, they might not be. If I was crybaby, I wouldnt want Matt in my relatives business. Matt is a plaque. Dont you get it. He isnt someone you just overlook, he's evil. Rethink it all John.

(and, again, believe me, I am no fan of Matt's, but just telling the truth about a situation does not make one evil)
And, by the way, I think you meant to say he is a PLAGUE, not a PLAQUE.
You people are sorrier than I thought.

He is not well liked, and I know it is better for me not to see him. That way, things wont get out of hand. He pushes everyone to the absolute limit. He is in your face, and never lets up. He should be looking at himself, and finding some truths. That way he wont have time to throw shit on everyone else. My not running into Matt at the coffee shop is for both of our well being, believe me.

Anonymous said...

Crybaby I still think you sound about 12 and your post is idiotic, to say the least.

[QUOTE:there's some intelligent people over on ORL.]
The rude comment about the "short bus" notwithstanding, in case you didn't realize it, Brainiac, the word contraction you wanted would be "there're" not "there's", since you think you are so damn smart.
As for sitting back and waiting for the election, read today's MJ editorial...no one should be sitting back and waiting for things to resolve themselves. SOMEONE (translation: mayor and council) needs to get his shit together and take some action.

Anonymous said...

If Joe Surace said the card had nothing to do with his campaign then why is a disclaimer needed? For what? In my opinion if a disclaimer was printed on the card or letter it would then make it campaign material. According to the Mayor the card was for the benefit of village residents.

Do you possibly think that McClelland showed up at the last council meeting because he knew the press would be there? He knew they would jump all over it? He disrupted that meeting in what I think was an attempt to make himself look important and to try to discredit the mayor. With this latest move he is showing us he's making a grand stand play on nothing more than supposition. If Dave Lloyd does happen to come out the winner after the recount his administration will have a lot of unnecessary hardship to deal with because of a former village politician.

I’m back! Why do you ask? Well, it appears ole nib just got up, sleepy eyed and….made a statement and THAT statement needs to be clarified! Ole nib, let me break it down for you

1. Surace issued the Cards (his picture with the flag by his side)
2. Surace used Village letterhead with the accompanying card
3. Surace claimed cards had nothing to do with his running for office

Note:……………Candidates have monies for campaigns (to be used for nothing else)

4. Did Surace buy stamps (to mail the cards) with campaign monies

Issue:…..……….If he did, this constitutes……misuse of campaign funds

Is misuse of campaign funds a crime? I don’t know, but we are about to find out!

Point:…………..Should McClellen grieve this issue? You bet he should and all residents should support his action. Why? Because Surace is an elective official not state election laws.

After thought:….The sad part is why didn’t the news media not discover this!!!!!

Anonymous said...

I bet some of you hypocrites wish that the things you have done were as minor as what you are accusing the Mayor of doing. I don't care if he is a public official or not, you people need to worry about cleaning your own house before you start on someone else...and you damn well know its true.

ORL ALERT:
I hear someone is checking into the Dave Lloyd campaign financial report to see if it includes advertising contributed to his campaign by the Ohio River Life Blog Site. It is noted that the advertising began on September 12, 2007 and continued thru election day. The advertising is in the form of a link to Dave Lloyds web site for Mayor. There is no disclaimer. Did Dave Lloyd pay ORL for this advertising. We will soon know. Everyone check out ORL Sept.2007 archives.

As for the new coffee shop in East Liverpool, I rode by the other day and thought oh how nice, will have to start going there when I am in town. Oh garmmer police, your right. Let me rephrase that, in your words,"there're some intelligent people on ORL". Boy I'm stupid, that contraction really threw me, thanks.
Also, "the mayor and council better get his shit together", now correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that plural. So your"there're" might work there again. Thanks for the clarification.

The funny thing is, if the owners themselves told Daumer to stay out, Jeffrey would say" this is a public place, I'll come and go as I please, I dont care that you and your family hate me, just give me my mocca. I'm just an innocent customer".
Welcome to the plight of a small town business.

I am a first time reader and this will be my last. It is hard to believe that you are the adults that are leading the Wellsville community and trying to save it from dying. Wellsville has been declining for years; that is why the younger generation is going off to college and not returning. Instead of looking at potential problems that are causing this downfall, you support the problem and tell the person that brings the issue to the public eye "hope you burn in hell bro". It saddens me that you are the adults influencing Wellsville youth. It is with this type of attuide that a once thriving community will continue to crumble. I hope Wellsville can see its errors and move foward. Unfortunately I am sure I will be blasted for this post..problems will continue and the youth will contine on to higher education and most likely never return.

Ole Nib:
I agree John went to the council meeting knowing he would get attention. But the big question for me is why? Why in the world is John drawing all this attention to himself. What got him so ticked off that he has gone this route? Do you really think it was the RX card? I dont think so, but I am at a loss to figure this guy out. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, he starts ranting and raving. Yeah, he knows he's getting attention, but in the end, is this the kind of attention a person wants. Did these people ever think, that they have piled on the Mayor so much, that no one is paying attention anymore.

McClelland is not the judge or jury
the Elections Commission in Columbus will be. So don't worry if Surace is on the up and up McClelland the asshole. If not, Surace is. But remember, someone from out of town will judge and jury not McClelland or any of you. It should be good.

Here's the deal. John obviously has a lot at stake (like a job or something)or he wouldn't being talking out of turn. His judgement is clouded. So clouded, he does not even care what is about to be said of him or his family. People will see he really is a disgruntled ex employee. He may even have to publicly explain certain charges against him. I'll bet he was real mad when the MJ & The Review put the Mayors face on the front page of the paper instead of his picture. That's the way he operates. Be carefull of what you wish for. It all comes "Full Circle" in the Ville. And he of all people should know, never, never spit up in the air. It comes down in your face.

No juice for Johnny Boy.

I dont think he can see what he is doing to himself. It is more that, than what he is doing to Joe. Talk about self destruction. Actually, the "his" referred to the word "someone" as in "someone better get his shit together," rather than "(the mayor and council)" so it was singular.

what is the difference between a sheriff who is accused of driving drunk and a mayor who is accused of running an illegal campaign ? absolutely nothing. i read post on here where the surace supporters as well as lloyd, were ready to hang that certain sheriff when they didn't know for sure whether or not he was guilty or innocent. so, how is it out of the question that your beloved mayor surace is or is not guilty? you don't know and neither do i. doesn't really matter anyway. in the end we are all judged by one

Anonymous said...

Running an illegal campaign is pretty strong considering the flimsy charges.

Anonymous said...

A DUI is much more serious than stupid politics! The sheriff could have killed someone, and then he tried to talk his way out of it. The worst that could happen with Surace is that you folks will have him to whine about for another four years in little old Wellsville.

I agree with grrr, nothing will happen to the Mayor, it is piddly stuff. Slap on the hand kind of stuff. There are sure worse things. Ask McClelland.

Anonymous said...

Don't think so. No slap on the hand, 5k fine or more. ask surace

Anonymous said...

i dont agree. I dont think anything will come of it at all. Alot of hype. It is a very small infraction, if it exists at all.

Anonymous said...

Is it really a "small infraction" if a candidate for public office blatantly lies about where he spent campaign funds?
It may be "piddly stuff" in the scheme of things for the Elections Commission but it sure speaks volumes about a candidate's credibility, honesty and integrity, if he is found guilty.
John McClelland should be commended for having the balls to bring his concerns to light. Whether the commission finds for him or against him, it takes a lot of courage to stand up publicly and question something he feels is illegal.
For those of you who asking why he is so "angry," please look at what you're saying.
Aren't you going to be angry if you find out Mr. Surace lied to you, the voters?
It's not the minor amount of money at issue; it's whether or not a person elected by the voters lied to them.
I will be interested to see what the commission decides.

NOBODY SHOULD HAVE TO CHOSE IN TODAYS SOCIETY WHETHER TO EAT OR BUY THEIR PRESCRIPTIONS BUT FACT IS THEY DO MORE THAN PEOPLE REALIZE. I SEE IT EVERYDAY AND IT IS SAD. and because a few people downing the prescription card they will continue to balance what is more important food or their prescriptions. sad truly sad. ANYONE NEEDING A PRESCRIPTION CARD CAN ASK AT WAL-MART CALCUTTA, CENTER PHARMACY. THEY ALL HAVE SOME OF THE CARDS OR JUST ASK JOE SURACE HIMSELF HE OR HIS FAMILY WILL BE GLAD TO GIVE YOU ONE. THEY HAVE HANDED THOSE CARDS OUT ALL OVER THE TRI-STATE AREA AND AS FAR AS VIRGINIA TO PEOPLE THAT NEED THEM.CAMPAIGN PLOY OR SOMEONE JUST TRYING TO BE NICE. I SAY WE CONVICT JOE SURACE FOR TRYING TO HELP PEOPLE. AND NOT JUST IN WELLSVILLE, OH WAIT A MINUTE HE IS

i remember mcclellans and the 2000 reasons they are no longer members of the soi, not good throwing stones when you live in a glass house

in closing, i hope that none of you readers ever have to know that feeling of being a cancer patient with your insurance not paying for one reason or another and have to decide whether or not to buy your pain medication for your pain or the boost you need to keep your strength, and wishing you had the money for both and knowing you dont. EVERY LITTLE THING HELPS.
even if this discount saves me $2.00 it is just that much more i dont have to pay on prescriptions, that are overpriced anyway

PATHETIC~PATHETIC

Nobody said the prescription cards are a bad idea and if you have them and can use them then so be it. People just don't like the mayor being questioned about the lies he told in regards to the card. My opinion is he should have just had the balls and said it was campaign advertisement. Why the hell not? Good idea and I haven't seen another candidate do such a thing.

Also to the ones who keep bashing Lloyds's supposed administration if he is elected, just remember you are talking about the current administration.

Warning Said

I love the back stabbing people of Wellsville. John doesn't give a rats ass about what you say about him or anyone else in his family. He's just waiting for the right comment to take this site and any liable participants to court. He will act fast and without hesitation. Warning.

Anonymous said...

If he doesn't care then why would he bother to take someone to court?

An injection to have this site shut down would work. It's Joe's people and Part Time Cops posting on it anyway. Go for it.

WELL FOLKS ITS BOTTOM OF THE 9TH NOV.20TH ... GUESS WE LLBE HEARING WHO THE NEW MAYOR IS PRETTY SOOOON...........WHAT TIME TODAY ARE WE GONNA KNOW?????????

cant wait said...

how can certain people live with themselves with this election, this election was not built around real issues, like who is the better man for the job, who can lead wellsville into the future, who is gonna stick around when the going gets tough, who can get things done, this election was filled with who likes the WPD and who dont, HOW PATHETIC it turned out like that. well i just hope the right man gets mayor or shall i say remains mayor if not this town will go down fast and everyone knows it. dave lloyd can not run a dept. or even run a business without running it into the ground heaven help us all if dave gets it.

Anonymous said...

If lloyd wins, these are the type of people you will have to deal with. they want to shut down free speech. Of course it is fine to bash the mayor all you want. Anything goes when it comes to bashing JOE.

I read through this garbage and finally someone writing the truth. This entire post is hit on by the same 5 people with nothing better to do. Yeah, there are 100 posts but hell, the same people are arguing with each other. It is laughable that people think those prescription cards save any money. Wal-Mart AND Giant Eagle give $4 prescriptions. Go to their website or ask the pharmacist if there is a generic available for less. You don't need a "Surace outta jail" free card. You people really are douche bags. Someone from the outside that ends up on this blog by accident probably laughs their ass off.

Anonymous said...

To truth finally:
You dont know what you are talking about. The drug card does save money. The amount varies, and it isnt on every drug, but on some things it is substantial. Also, there are other cards out there like it that do the same. Maybe some pharmacys are offering $4 rx's on some drugs, but the card is not a hoax, not matter how much you people want to say it is. It is one of many discount cards out there that do save people money. You shouldnt put false information on here, people might take you seriously and not save money that they need. That is cruel. Let people use the card and get whatever benefit they can. Post about something you know about.

Joe should call hillary clinton she is looking for a way to solve this problem for the entire country. Maybe joe could be vice president i hear she maybe looking for a running mate

Why not stick to the issue. John never attached anyone's family or made personal threats towards anyone. Stick to the issue and debate them that's a good thing.

Please Note

The threats and intimidation tactics on this web site will be reviewed for defamation. I hope the people posting them and Mr Nib have good liability insurance. They will need it.

Just to let you know I am from East Liverpool and recieved one of the cards. It saved me 30% on my perscription drugs. I am greatfull for the card, why are people trying to mess up a good thing. Are they just jealous they didn't think of it first.

Anonymous said...

Karma? I think it means fate or accident. You people are way out line making comments like that. Shame on you!

Anonymous said...

1:29pm You must 10 years old.

Anonymous said...

The cards are not the issue. They could be a good thing for some people. The issue is the way they were sent out before the election. What in hell are you people thinking.

Anonymous said...

My piont exactly. I am from East Liverpool. I have no parts of the election at all...AGAIN I AM FROM EAST LIVERPOOL. And recieved a card.

Anonymous said...

I am curious as to where Matt is lately. He stirs the pot for weeks upon weeks and now all of a sudden he is knee deep in comic book jargon. What a jackass. He is not where to be found on the issue he has hammered on at nauseam. I mean, day after day, he never let up, and suddenly, poof! No Matt. Now, I'm not complaining, as I hate Matt, but I find it most curious. Where has Dave Lloyds cheerleader gone? And why? Oh, well, lets enjoy it while it last.

Anonymous said...

Everyone, make sure you read Jeremy Lydic's story in The Review. Titled "Elections commission: Complaint against Surace needs revised, resubmitted"

very interesting.

Anonymous said...

Heavens John your in the media again. I just got done reading the review online.Seems like you'll be putting out some bucks. You and who ever else. You was so worried about the cost the first time. What makes the difference now? Must have some people backing ya up this time. Thats all I can think of.Because I can't imagine putting out that kind of money for a lawyer just to be proven wrong. But then again I have to think who's backing you up? Because I'm sure you have other issues and I did say other issues you need you bucks for.I wonder if this is some kind plot,You know like for a example. Hey John you do this and that and i'll make sure if I'm in office you'll be a part of it.Sounds to me things are getting pretty fishy. But it's all good because the lord don't like ugly and I don't see him and his paparazzis futures looking to bright.

Anonymous said...

He just made an error, and it will be corrected. Cops do it all the time in filing charges, most all the time in Wellsville. No big deal

Anonymous said...

I thouhgt they were supposed to certify the results on the 20th. Is that correct?

Anonymous said...

Yeah your right he did make mistakes but didn't he say in the newspaper. That he didn't have a lawyer review the complaint prior to sending due to the cost, but said he will do so this time?So no matter what he'll be forking it out or someone else will be.He didn't want to pay it then, why now? I'll tell ya why because him and his lil gang loves to keep things going. He's always been like that. But I still don't see the outcome of anything being any different.Their just wasting their breath, time and money. It's all going to work out in the long run for the good people.I know people as far as Arizona,Nebraska,Columbus,Williamsport and Alliance,Ohio that got the cards from Mayor Surace that don't have nothing to do with the voting here. And from the blog there are alot of other outter towners that have gotten them from what I can see from this blog.

Anonymous said...

Just wanted to know..Yeah they was suppose to. But from my understanding it won't be known till sometime tomorrow.

Anonymous said...

Well damn I wish the WPD would of made a mistake against me.lol

Anonymous said...

Oh I just made a mistake that will affect the lives of thousands. It will ruin friendships of hundreds, if not more. It will oust me from a town I call home for 30 yrs. You see, this is the kind of mistakes that were made on a daily basis. Will Johnny be filing back as a Republican, or as an Independent now, since he has lost the support of both parties?

You so funny
Issue not about cards
Issue is stamps that sent cards out
Mayor say he sent stamps out with own money
John say he sent stamps out with campaign money
Issue not cards
Use cards
Silly people

I just read the Review story. John, this is your chance to save face. Drop it now. You could gain back some respect. Just drop the whole thing, people will forget, and you can show your face again in time. It isnt worth what you are pulling down on yourself and your family. It isnt going to change anything. Think about what you are doing, you have a second chance now.

[QUOTE: Issue not about cards

EXACTLY!
As for John spending money for an attorney to review the complaint, smart move. Should have done that in the beginning but such a filing error isn't uncommon with such complaints. Doesn't mean it isn't a valid complaint.

My god! How ingenious! Isn't that how Tom Cruise brought down THE FIRM?
He couldn't get them on over billing or even murder. But he slammed their asses with postage.
Don't forget to catch John in his next movie, Mission Impossible 4.

Anonymous said...

What John is doing, is costing the county taxpayers money, himself money and making himself unpopular. It costs the taxpayers money for the Board of Elections to investigate this, and chances are, the complaint will be thrown out, in part for that reason. I know John is playing moral police, but this is going nowhere.

Anonymous said...

Yes we are so silly, Thats why you won't have a snowball chance in hell with most people of the village anymore.I know for a fact me nor my family will be going to your place of employment anymore and i'm sure others are feeling the same way about now. Do to the fact we don't want to look you in your face fearing we'll spit in it just for GP and for the fact how you showed how much a lowlife you really are. But see we'll just stay away because we don't wanna lower our standards to your level. So John it's bad enough you couldn't keep one business up and running let alone now ruining another because its your place of employment.Your not only hurting yourself your hurting others right along with it. Think John you wasn't very well liked before by many. And I'm sure now theres even more that dislikes ya.Think about it. How in the world are you going to face anybody in this town now, knowing how we hate you!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Right the complaint isn't going to go no where. At least I wouldn't think it would.John is wasting his time. The only thing that is going anywhere is John is making alot of enemies for himself and others thats about it.

Surace by four Nib. I got it from reliable sources.

Ole Nib:
It came from the Board of Elections. Cant say who. It is certified. It may not be in the paper until Monday, but it is certified and official. The other side will probably ask for a recount, but the BOE feels sure this will hold. I know its only 4 votes, but I bet Lloyd would love to have those 4 right now.

HURRAY~SURACE WON!

Finally, he'll be able to fix the problems in the police department. You all know he was waiting to see who won before he started on that, right? He was quoted in the MJ yesterday. I'm just so happy to have a mayor who was going to put off handling a problem that cost us $20,000 till he found out whether it was going to be his problem or the next guys. Seems you better get to work Joe. Congrats!

Can't wait, you need to change your name to hypocrite. How can you call a group of people goon platoon, spreading lies that they met, and then tell everyone it is time to work together. Maybe if you left the first part of your comment out, your sincerity would have had merit.

Very intelligent!

Anonymous said...

I would say if Tom Edgell was meeting with some of the Lloyd people he is in the wrong job. I understand that you have opinions, but isnt he supposed to be neutral in all this. I heard he left as soon as the meeting was over to meet with the goon platoon. I would say there is a definite conflict of interst there. Maybe he was talking about the free advertising on ORL to the Lloyd campaign and letting them know how to file the complaint properly.

Anonymous said...

Tom was neutral in all this and no way should his integrity be questioned. He forgot more then Surace knows. That's why the Kum Ba club wanted him gone.

Oh who gave the surace the free sign space on Lisbon street? That's called an inkind donation that should be on his finance report. Check that one out

Anonymous said...

Man, Matt needs to get a life. I wonder if he will recover from Surace winning, or just clean go over the edge. It looks like the latter. He should just hang it up and start writing stories about how much East Liverpool looks like England again. I think he's done all the damage he can really do here, he should move on.

Anonymous said...

I agree, mat could write more about how East Liverpool looks so much like Europe and then show us pictures of abandoned alleys to prove his point. maybe he should wait a year or so after the shock of the election has worn off before he tries any more satire.

To annom 228, I hope you are kidding. This coal plant is the newest in it's field. It's the safest way to produce fuel and cleanest. It's byproduct is CO2, which is what plants breathe and what you breath out. Even if it wasnt the cleanest, if it doesnt come in, the ville is doomed. If it does, we will be saved along with alot of other towns close by and afar. We need this, dont try to stop it please. Unless you are very very wealthy and dont care about this town or the people in it. YES< YES YES to Baard Energy.
