Wellsville Council Meeting Cancelled

The regularly scheduled Council meeting that was changed to Wednesday was cancelled yesterday. It was announced several Council members were ill. The meeting was moved back one day due to the Primary Election on Tuesday.

At this time no make-up is planned unless a Special Council Meeting is called and the Clerk of Council said none were mentioned. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 18 at 6 P.M. at Village Hall.

Other than the matter of the union negotiations we know of no pending legislation currently on the agenda. At the last meeting in April, Personnel Committee Chairman Joe Soldano announced he was asked to hold off on any union business until full Council could be present. The union contract has been in negotiations for nearly a year and the contract expired 12/31/09.

Claims, Rules & Ordinances and the Property Committees have several pieces of legislation discussed in Committee meetings pending. We understand they are still being fined tuned with Village Legal Advisor Andy Beech. Those items mostly pertain to amending ordinances on landlord responsibility and property upkeep. Finance has three levy renewals or replacements pending but that Committee is waiting for more precise figures that will be available after the exit audit is done by State Auditors.

Have no idea what it is and really that is a matter of privacy. Do know I'm staying away from there for a few days.
