A Night To Remember

That was the theme for this year's WHS Junior/Senior Prom. This year's prom was held Saturday, April 24. It began with the grand march at the high school. The prom was held at Florian Hall in Steubenville. Bus transportation was provided from the high school to Steubenville.

For the grand march the gym was decorated in a Parisian motif complete with a replica of the Eiffel Tower. Each couple was introduced by Principal Linda Rolley as they entered through the arch under the tower.

Prom Court members were Shannon Davis, Anna Drago, Kaylyn Hardman, Leah Kelly, Carli Russell, Rachel Wilson, Danny Dye, Chad Elliott, Joseph Hall, Christian Kapp, William Shilot and Bobby Sullivan. There were 64 couples listed in the program.

Shannon Davis was selected the 2010 Queen and Bobby Sullivan as this year's King. They were crowned by last year's royalty, Taylor Buzzard and Matt Gibbs.

The prom was dedicated to the memory of the late Mathugh Johnston by Junior Class members. Johnston passed away in 2007, a victim of leukemia. He would have been a Junior this year and is held dear in the hearts of all that knew him. Saying they know full well if Mathugh was still among them he would be wearing the crown. A crown for Mathugh was presented to his mother. It was a "class" act that didn't leave very many dry eyes in the house.

We apologize for taking nearly two weeks to get this posted. There were so many beautiful gals and good looking guys it was extremely difficult selecting pictures for the collage shown above.
