WHS 2010 Football Now 1&5 On Season

Last Friday evening the McDonald Blue Devils rolled into to town on four school buses. One of them was for the band and cheerleaders. The other three were transporting the football team which numbered 58 players. Out of the 58 there were 24 seniors listed, enough for two different teams. Over all they had enough for four teams with spares to fill in if someone got winded.

McDonald was the 2009 ITCL Lower Tier champs. They went 10&0 in the regular season last year and lost in the first round of play offs.

Unfortunately the Wellsville Tigers were out numbered and out gunned. Even with the odds against them the Orange & Black never gave up, never quit. The final score was McDonald 47-13. It's now history. Time to move on.

The Tigers return to action tomorrow night when undefeated Western Reserve comes to Nicholson Stadium. Western Reserve handed Southern Local their first loss of the season last week beating the Indians 26-10. We're looking for the upset of the year tomorrow night with the developing Tigers! It's possible.

Half time will have Homecoming ceremonies with the crowning of the 2010 Fall Sports Queen. Come join us to root on the Orange & Black.

Good luck Tigers...
