This week sees both the Daw Middle School & the High School Volleyball teams wrap up their regular season along with the Daw Middle School & Jr. Tiger Football teams. Thanks to all these fine student athletes that worked so hard from pre-season practice on. Your contributions and efforts are appreciated.

The WHS Alumni All-Stars Lip Sync is preparing for a one evening performance on November 20. They have been doing twice a year shows since the year 2000. Help is needed all around from costume people, stage prop helpers & designers to performers. You have to be a WHS Alumni to perform but it is open to anyone if you would like to pitch in for this worthy fund raiser. Benefits from the show support the WHS Alumni Center, which eventually goes toward the every five year All-Class Reunion. Call Linda DeLauder Cochran at 304-387-1461 for more information or come to the meeting Tuesday evening. You can e-mail Linda at indianavenue1@yajoo.com.

The 2nd Annual Dash for Mat's Bash will be held Saturday. It's the costume based fun run to raise money for the scholarships given each year in memory of Mathugh Johnston. This year's Bash is being dedicated to both Mathugh and Lyndsey Salisberry. Event organizers will be on hand to pass out race packets and for late registrations starting at 3:30 at Village Hall. The walk/race begins at 5:30. You can contact Tim or Annie Long at 330-532-3336 or 412-735-0418 for more information. Each and every child will be given a pumpkin and there will a costume contest prior to the race.

The Pottery Players are back at it with this week-end's and next performance of The Cemetery Club about three widows that meet weekly at their husband's grave. The shows will be at their theater at 15th St. For reservations or more information call 330-532-5540. It's community theatre at its best.

Have a good week...

The WHS Lip Sync and Musical Variety shows support the Wellsville Alumni Center, which in turn, supports the activities that are held during the All Class Reunions every five years. We are a fund raiser for the Alumni Center, not for the Scholarship Fund, which was reported earlier. The Alumni Center needs continous financial support to keep it operating and to enable activities during those reunions.
