WHS Wrestlers Beat Toronto

Wednesday - January 6: For the first time this season the WHS Wrestling Tigers had a match at home. For the first time in our life we attended a wrestling match. Our knowledge of the wrestling sport is extremely limited. If it hadn't been for high school gym class some forty years ago our knowledge would be less than limited. Bear with us. Maybe before the season is over we'll pick of some of the finer points.

The brief article in the MJ said Tim LaClair, Vance Thomas, Sean Ramsey & Mark Barton were all winners. Captions on the MJ pictures said Barton won by a 13 - 9 decision and Ramsey got a pin. We're thinking LaClair & Thomas also pinned their Red Knight opponents. We recall the ref slapping the mat more than once with a Tiger on top and a Toronto wrestler with his shoulders flat on the mat.

We do know the Tigers won the match by a score of 57 - 12. Congratulations guys.

The Tigers return to action tomorrow at Jackson Milton in a tournament. They will be back home next Wednesday, January 13, vs East Liverpool/South Range. That starts at 6 P.M. Is that what they call a triangular match? Help me out here.

Good luck Tigers...
