WHS Lady Tigers Improve to 3 & 5

Saturday - Jnuary 9: A rapidly improving young Lady Tigers Basketball Team got a very convincing win over the visiting Toronto Lady Red Knights yesterday. Before the holiday break the young Lady Tigers were averaging around 30 turn overs per game. As mentioned last week against McDonald we saw a marked improvement in the passing game and yesterdays game was the same. Head Coach Ed Swogger said he contributes that to the Ladies getting more experience with each game and exercising some patience in their ball handling. It's paying off. This is a young team with only one Senior class player. The rest of the 10 Lady team is made up with Sophomores & Freshmen.

Yesterday they won for the second time this year over Toronto. Final score was 64 - 28 with Mykyla Tipton taking game high honors with 29 points. Tipton was 7 for 11 at the charity stripe. Following Tipton was Irene Kiser with 16 points, four of them from the foul line. Kiser also recorded four steals.

With just ten players the Lady Tigers will only be playing Varsity games against all non-league opponents for the balance of this year's schedule. Last Friday's cancelled game against Sebring will be made up at a yet to be determined date. Sebring is an ITCL league opponent.

Stay healthy Ladies. We like what we're seeing and we're proud of each and everyone of you.
