WHS Tigers Get Back On Winning Track

Saturday - January 9: A game that was cancelled Friday for weather was played Saturday evening at Sebring. We didn't get to the game but we did listen to it on the WHS Sports Station on the internet.

After a heart breaking first loss of the season last week to McDonald the Tigers came right back to their winning ways on the road trip. From the start of the game the Orange & Black took an early lead. The Trojans were never in the game. Leading by 18 going into the locker room at the half the Tigers came back to bury the Sebring team. When the buzzer sounded at the end of the game the Tigers were up by 30 points and took home a 69 -39 victory. Nice job guys.

The WHS SS announcers were saying the speed and ball handling kept the game out of reach all night. We've seen it at the home games and for the most part it's a killer for Wellsville opponents. Game high honors with 17 points each were shared by Mike Johnston and Jeremy Carter. Johnston also had six assists and Carter had eight rebounds and four assists according to the morning papers. The win moves the the Tigers to 7 & 1 over all and 4 & 1 in the lower tier of the ITCL.

The J.V.s also won. It was a good night all around. The Tigers return to action Tuesday at Southern Local. Good luck Tigers. Show 'em you care...

Thanks to Joe Surace, Bud Ceneviva, Rodger and Sparky Miller, Terry Brown and the sponsors of the Wellsville Alumni web site that bring us WHS SS. There's probably more than we'll ever know that appreciate what you're doing. With the lack of facilities they won't be able to bring us the Southern game Tuesday but they said they will be back on the 'net with Friday's game against Jackson-Milton.

Indeed we should all thank the guys that bring us the games on
WKMX. It is nice for the folks in Wellsville that can't make it to the games as well as those who live out of town. Thanks guys and their sponsors as well.
