WHS Lady Tigers Struggles Continue

Monday - January 4: When the basketball season started there were only 12 Ladies on the whole team. That included both the Varsity and the Reserves. Returning to action Monday evening they are now down to 10 players after the Christmas break. One player transferred to another school district and one player decided that basketball wasn't her game.

In spite of their lack of bench strength the Ladies gallantly hung in there Monday evening to give visiting McDonald a game. They lost the game 63 - 53 but stayed within a respectable distance with the Lady Blue Devils throughout the game. Making McDonald earn the win they didn't roll over and play dead. We saw a remarkable improvement in the passing game. Although we don't have the actual numbers it was noticeable that the turn overs were greatly decreased. That conditioning and practice pays off.

High point honors for the Lady Tigers went to Mikyla Tipton with 20 points. The Reserves won their battle 54 -12 with Meika Dalrymple having 15 points for game high.

Hang in there Ladies. We're proud of you.
