A Couple of New Web Sites

At this week's council meeting Eric Sheppard was granted permission to block off "Riverside Avenue from the museum down to Seventh Street" according to the MJ's Erin Colella. Why they would want to block off Riverside from 9th down to the museum is beyond me. At any rate in the ER report Mr. Lydic made mention of a site for the Reunion. It is www.theriversidereunion.com and it has all the information you would want about the reunion. This is a nice annual event and a lot of hard work is done by the all volunteer crew to make it possible. This year they are featuring Queens of the 70s and the classes of '78 and '93. Check it out. Oh, one other thing, I've been told that the class of '58 is holding their 50th that weekend too.

The other web site I was asked to mention is one for the Victims of Homicide folks. This is the organization that sponsors a support group for families and friends of unsolved homicide victims. Their web site can be found at www.victimsofhomicide.blogspot.com.

Erin must have misunderstood what I said at the council meeting. We block the street off from the LIBRARY at the alley to 7th street. What they both failed to mention was the Wellsville Legends part of the Reunion. We are working hard to make this a special part of the Reunion. This year we will be recognizing 5 people with this honor. We just launched the web site this week, and soon you will be able to submit your choice for who you think should be recognized as a Wellsville Legend. This is a Wellsville Reunion. The Riverside part of the name only designates the location. Please visit the site and leave us your comments and ideas.

Eric - Thanks for your input. We all knew the streets would not be blocked off farther than 9th. We all knew except Ms. Colella. Anyone that checks out their facts would easily know that from 9th down to the museum there is no street. Of course there was a reporter that told us the floodwall was located at 7th St. not too long ago.

I'm looking forward to the Reunion. You and your committee are to be commended for your efforts. I know it is a lot of hard work. Can you tell us who this year's legends to be honored will be?

Sorry Nib, I can't reveal that info just yet. We're busy gathering each recipients accomplishments and then we send them their notification letters. After that we'll notify the press and release the names. I have to admit, I have no experience with award ceremonies. Last year was a struggle to even make happen. But the families of the recipients were so pleased and proud, that we are driven to make this a special part of the Reunion.

Ok h2, that explains why there wasn't any names listed on your new web site. Gives us something more to look forward to.
