Yesterdays local papers informed us of a drive-by shooting in the early morning hours Sunday up in East End. I'm sure nearly all of you have read about it or at least heard of the incident. I won't dwell a lot on the details. I suspect it is related to drug activities but that remains to be seen. So far nothing has been mentioned in the papers about drugs.
Four suspects have been arrested in connection to the incident after a brief police chase and some quick thinking with connecting the dots by East Liverpool's finest. With witness reports they quickly spotted a car matching the description of the one involved in the shooting and collared the four. The driver is a Wellsville native and resident. One of the other suspected desperadoes was wanted in Columbus for armed robbery and was described as being armed and dangerous.
Now it was reported in today's ER that three weapons have been recovered along the get away trail that police believe were used in the shooting. Hopefully they will get some prints matching the guns to the suspects and recover some slugs matching the guns to the shooting. That would give a nice, neat wrap to this incident.
The big question in my mind is why. What prompted the shooting? Maybe some of those details will come out when this case goes to court. No doubt there will be some bargaining going on when everyone is lawyered up. Often the whys and whatfors come out when the suspects start trying to get a better deal for themselves before going to trial.
Another thing came to mind. Back in the early part of the year there were rumors of gun fire in the lower part of town. We never heard anything from official sources but I'm wondering if this is somehow related to what went on up in East End. Maybe it's related to some of the same suspects. Maybe it's worth looking into. It's got a ville connection already. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what comes out.
Meanwhile I would like to congratulate the ELPD for their quick and thoughtful work on this one. You got those suspects off the street. Thanks...

Jonathan Pullie is a Wellsville, grad. He's well known to have relationships with Men and other than human.
well at least no one was killed.
suspects have been arrested. imagine that. you go liverpool police. wellsville would be clueless {maybe all the cops in wellsville are blondes)
I think your lack of sleep has impaired your thinking, oh intelligent one. I can think of only one officer whose last name ends in a vowel. Why not enlighten us.
Insomniac..no wonder you can't sleep at night. If you are that bigoted you probably have to sleep with one eye open all night.
I think that was a very stereotypical comment about Italians. What difference does it make if a wellsville cop is Italian? And that's very mature making a blonde joke. I don't recall many that are either of the two. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Wait, Wellsville has a police force???
YEA...with badges and everything....Well almost everything...Maybe Santa will bring them a real chief this year for Christmas.
Are youz threatenin me?

The Morning Journal reported Monday about the guns being found and even had a picture of the wicked looking rifle used. Trust the Review to be a day behind.
Are you threatening me. I need T.P. for my bunghole.......I am cornholio
we do have one cop who is blonde....well atleast his cute little bangs are
Okay so now you are saying "one" cop is blonde, but before it was "all" the cops. He probably dyes it anyway. I cannot even believe the cops' hair color is being turned into an issue. Focus on something else, something worth while.
THEY ARE RETRO SEXUAL COPS,,,LMAO
934 is right. he probably does dye it. ive never seen anyone who has brown hair and blond bangs. must be the way he reeled in that fresh out of high school girlfriend
the chief is a joke. our city chould be his top priority, not the quality of our lawns. he's a figure of ridicule.
your wrong 10:41, she STILL in high school
You're right Number9, you can't have a decent discussion without foolish comments thrown in.
I almost feel sympathetic towards the chief and PD for the irrelevant and inappropriate comments people post. It's getting ridiculous if itsn't already.
You can feel as sympathetic as you want for them, but when you accept a job in the eye of the public, you must be ready to take crap from people, be it legitimate or not. I do think that some comments that people say about lawns and bangs and blonds are a little far fetched, but mama b is right in saying our chief is a figure of ridicule. when certain events unfold, and not just saying the way he has went about his little escapades with murders and all, you have to be prepared to take flak from neysayers. period. happens in all aspects of society.
on the other hand, in not as many words, most people are for the most part right about some of these officers. do some of them run their mouths then hide behind their badge. Absolutely. do some of them bastardize their duties as a peace officer. Without a doubt. is EVERYTHING these boys do both inside and outside of the uniform just rumor? doubtful. then again, if some of the things they do are brought to light would there be any ramifications from the chain of command....hard to say. basically, it needs to be understood that public figures are going to be scrutinized for their professional work and their private life and when they fumble, society is going to let them know. and if theres anyone that writes on here that can honestly say that the majority of these younger guys walk the straight and narrow 24/7, youre either one of those public figures within wellsvilles governering body that loves to turn a blind eye and deaf ear or you have a serious case of denial
I also congradulate the ELPD.
I don't think there are enough EL cops though so they should get the money to hire more. There is too much crime. An increase in the number of cops would help greatly.
