Wellsville All-Class Reunion

It's Day 4 of this year's version of the Wellsville 5 Year All-Class Reunion. There's only two more days before the 2010 event will be history. For some it'll be a relief. There're the ones that have been doing all the pre-reunion stuff. There're the ones who, come late Saturday night, they will be able to sit down, put their feet up and say "whew!" "We did it..."

We've been running ourselves but what we're doing pales in comparison to what the WHS Alumni Activities Committee members and all the others that offered to contribute to the Committee's efforts have done . Those fine folks are like the old watch commercial - they just keep going & going. We stand in awe of their endurace and dedication. If you see any of them when you're out & about give them a heartfelt thank you for a job well done. That's the least they deserve.

On tap for Friday the Historical Society will have the River Museum open for all to visit from 1 to 3 P.M. It's three floors crammed full of Wellsville history that, for us, sharpens memories of things we remember growing up in the ville. You'll want to stop by. We' highly recommend it. They'll be open Sunday afternoon too for their regular hours from 1 to 4:30.

Also today is the parade set to launch at 6 o'clock this evening. The 2010 Class of Wellsville Legends will be featured. The parade will start below 12th St. and come up Main to the Square. From what we see in today's weather forecast it looks like Parade Committee Chairman Jack Call's promise is as good as his word. We reported that he promised it wouldn't rain on his parade!

Following the parade there will be an open house reception for the Legends at the Alumni Center. There will be cake & light refreshments. The Legend ceremony will begin at 8:30 in the Square. Then Lew Shepherd and the gang of Judy & Hootches other six kids got the Legends Band lined up to take the stage at 10 P.M. to close out today's schedule. You'll want to catch some of the streaming specially produced videos on the big screen that hootch2 has been putting since last year.

Enjoy...

Thanks for the consistent updates for those of us that couldn't make it back this time!

What's up with the WPD stormtrooping into the bar at 1 a.m. and kicking everybody out? I say, the license permits them to serve alcohol until 2 a.m., and nobody is causing a riot, let the party continue.

WPD was asked to clear the bars by the owners. Call the WPD and ask, I did.

That's true about the WPD. At Tuesday's Council meeting it was noted by one of the Council members that one bar owner requested that the police do regular walk throughs in hopes of discouraging any potential problems. Not a bad idea.
