Wellsville 7th & 8th Grade Basketball

Wednesday - February 3: The 7th & 8th Grade Baskeball teams played Crestview this past Wedneday. The boys played at home and the girls traveled up there. The boy's games are pictured above.

On the home court at Beacom Memorial the 7th Grade boys beat Crestview by a final score of 38 - 19. The 7th Graders never trailed behind at the end of any one quarter in the game. Chase Hilliard & Devin Smith both had 10 points apiece to lead the Tigers. The boys are now 7 & 5 for the season.

The 8th Grade boy's game was a little closer in the nightcap. The Tigers were able to pull out a two point victory at the end of an over-time period to remain undefeated on the season. Wellsville was down 23 - 20 going into the fourth quarter. With just 2.3 seconds left the Tigers tied it up at 27 forcing the game into the extra period. At the end of the fifth period it was Tigers 32 - 30. Seth Bradford &n Jordan Sloan each tallied 8 points to lead the Orange & Black. With the win the 8th Grade team remains undefeated on the season with a 12 & 0 record.

The 7th & 8th Grade girls split up at Crestview. The 7th Graders won with 24 - 15 score with Angelica Scarabino leading the Ladies with 12 points. Rasheeda Kalam added another nine. The 7th Grade girls are now 6 & 6 on the season.

The 8th Grade girls dropped their game with Crestview losing 39 - 21. Brittany Clendenning led the now 8 & 4 Eighth Graders with nine points and Shelby Zahora contributed another seven points.

With school closed for weather both teams had games cancelled this week. We'll have to check if they will be made up.
