1929 Wellsville Wedding

Here's a classic. It's a wedding that took place 80 years ago that is a piece of Wellsville history.

Shown here from the left is Ralph Maitino, father of the bride, Mary Maitino-Fusco, Joseph Fusco, the bride & groom and Frank Fusco, father of the groom. The newly wed couple look very young to me.

Except for Mary the other three in the picture all came to America from the "old country". Mary was first generation American born.

Mary & Joseph went on to raise three children. There was Ralph & Frank Fusco and Rosalie Fusco-Call. Joseph earned his living and retired from the old Crucible Steel Mill in Midland, PA. Mary was what we call a "stay-at-home" wife & mother. Of the three children Rosalie is the only surviving descendant. From that union in marriage there are three generations of Wellsville residents among us. Rosalie and her brothers were very active in the ville and Rosalie is still pitching in to help out where she can. It was fun reminiscing the other day about the Fusco family.

Thanks for sharing Jack & Roe...

Possibly. The missus & I see a definite resemblance of the groom in Jack & Roe's son.
