The WHS Lady Tigers opened up their 2009 volleyball season last evening, September 1, with a convincing win over backyard rival Southern Local. The Lady Tigers won three straight sets to defeat the Lady Indians.
According to the morning papers Noelle Amato had "27 assists and three aces" in the opening win. Shawntae Dillard had seven kills.
The Reserves won their earlier match taking two sets out of three from the Indians. The Lady Tigers will next play Malvern, Thursday, September 3, at home.
