Dillard Bound Over To Grand Jury

In a Preliminary Hearing held yesterday for the case of Wellsville's Eric Dillard on murder charges it was determined by Judge Robb to send it to the Grand Jury. Dillard has been accused in the shooting death of Jamie Farley on the night of April 22nd. Yesterday's hearing in CC Municipal Court was to determine probable cause.

Both of our local papers have lengthy write ups of yesterday's proceedings in today's editions. It's also on-line on their web sites. There's a little more info on what happened that night after the police arrived. Dillard did not take the stand yesterday and the reasons for this unfortunate and tragic incident hasn't been made public. The prosecuting attorney was quoted as saying Dillard has not shown any cooperation with officials. Also, according to those testifying, a second weapon was not found. That could very well be one of those rumors we were talking about.

Meanwhile Dillard will remain in custody with a $2,000,000 bond. Memorial services will be held at six this evening at the Avondale Baptist Church in ELO for Jamie Farley.

Since Jamie is a member of my family, I have not posted one remark about what has happened. As my husband stated in an earlier post, Jamie is family, even though I did not care for the lifestyle choices he made. Not too long ago, we seen Jamie with his daughters. Very beautiful little girls. My oldest 2 children go to school with them. Jamie will be sadly missed by his children and family. I have a hard time swallowing the words stated by others about Mr. Dillard leaving behind a wife and child. Jamie may not have had a wife, but he had children and a grandchild, not to mention a mother, brothers, and sisters who were all robbed by his sudden death. Now the people who want to make statements about Mr. Dillard having to suddenly leave behind his family, so did Jamie. It is a 2-way street. GOD bless Jamie's remaining family, as my thoughts and prayers are with them. And may GOD bless Mr. Dillard's family, as my thoughts and prayers are with them also. They are hurting as well as Jamie's family is.

Until someone authoritative tells us the reason for this tragic incident it will remain a matter of speculation and gossip. That someone could be Mr. Dillard himself, someone close to Mr. Farley or investigating officials summarizing what they have learned. It appears Mr. Dillard has chosen to stick to the code of silence even at the risk of harming his own defense. I wonder if he's even talking to his attorneys. We may never find out.

Death is always sad. It is especially tragic when it happens to someone "before his time" as the saying goes. It is especially tragic for the loved ones left behind. May time find for them a sense of closure and acceptance to enable them to move on with their own lives. Indeed keep both families in your thoughts and prayers.

I was at Jamie Farleys memorial service yesterday and I must say it was an eye opener.
Some people can change there ways and some can't. I do believe and I may be wrong but it seems that Jamie was changing for the good. The pastors at the church told stories of Jamies generousity and all the good he has done for them and with them. And from some of the people I have talked to days before the service they all have noticed a great change in him. I did too.
Jamie and I had our beef years ago and for some reason he stopped me and taled to me like we were old friends. To this day I still look back at that day and can't help but wonder was that the day that things were begining to change for him.
Well some of may not believe that he could change after all the damage he has done in the past but I firmley believe that you can. Jamie was on his way.
He was cremated, alot of family and friends were there. Stories were told and there werer pictures of him in the front of the church and in the lobby.
There will be alot of people who are going to miss him, especially his kids, the kids he would do anything for.
May GOD BLESS YOU Jamie. One day we will meet again.

anon,

You may be right, but there are alot of people out there who will say they seen it too. But I noticed a change way befor he was going to be sent away. But can you honestly say that Jamie really didn't have a change of heart. That is something we will really never know, but that is something I truely believe because when we was at odds it was something, to me, really serious. But after somwe years had passed and I saw him on the street I did noticed a change. I didn't have to talk to him but I did.
We will probably not agree on him changing but you had to be at the memorial service to hear the stories. People will have there opinions about Jamie whether it be good or bad. I saw good. And that is my opinion.
