What Happened Terry?

It is now 11:25 P.M. Friday night. That means I have been listening to what some would consider music for over four hours waiting to hear on WKMX what the Tigers did tonight. Along around nine it became apparent that the game wasn't going to be broadcasted as promised. I sadly hung in there hoping at least we would hear something on the chat portion. Not one single person at the station that I know of informed us of anything. No one! I cooked supper, had cocktails with the missus, ate supper and cleaned up the kitchen waiting. As Barry White sang, I was anxiously waitin', waitin' for you baby.

Frankly I'm disappointed to say the least after promoting WKMX and their efforts to bring us the games. What a wonderful public service. Homebound & I really appreciated it. Terry had sponsors lined up supporting his efforts and with the stream of music & the web cam picture of street lights in the night scene there doesn't seem to be any technical problems with the web site. So what happened to the game broadcast? I hope there is a good reason it wasn't on. Now I'm going to call it a night. I have to get up early to read the papers to find out what the Tigers did.

So - what do you have to say Terry?

Good night...

Good morning. Just to follow up, according to the papers, the Tigers got an impressive win last night over Sebring with an even more impressive performance by senior Zane Carter. It's good to see Zane is coming back after his neck injury a few weeks ago. The Tigers led all the way and came away with a 76-50 win. Zane accounted for 29 of those points and had his second consecutive double-double. He even made a slam dunk off a steal.

Great game guys. Congratulations...

Sorry about the game last night.. I am near Columbus for my daughters wedding.. After finally finding a hotel with Internet access. GOt checked in and wow... wasnt working.. So I am not connected barely to a nearby Motel 8 Internet source.. Tried everythnig I could to get this going. but as said before, some things are out of my control. But the guys were there and did the game and have it on video waiting for me when I get home..THe game will be aired tonight when I get home and will be available after that for On Demand viewing. The rest of the games shouldnt have any problems. Sorry guys, this was a very important date and wouldnt have missed it for the world...See you next week. With hopes of a lot better broadcasting sound

After doing some checking, it looks like a decent professional broadcasting headset, like the ones you see the guys on TV use, would cost close to $300.00 a piece. The the mics are designed to greatly reduce background noises from sporting events and so on. Can anyone say FUND RAISER? I don't know what they already have, but if it's not a set of these, then it would be nice to get them a couple sets to ratchet up the quality of their broadcasts. I personally know what it's like to stress over the limits of my equipment when I'm doing something in public. Tbrown, let us know what WE can do to help.

Hey Terry - Congratulations on your daughter's wedding and thanks for the explanation. Under the circumstances it was completely understandable. Family comes first. Been in no Wi-Fi spots myself. You deserve a big E for effort and a pat on the back for being the proud father of the bride.

Hooch 2- you are the man. Lets not critisize, before we know the circumstances, lets see what we can do to help Terry. I also, know what it is like to have equipement fail just when you need it. Only when it happens to me, I have a roomful of students who have paid for something, equipement fails, you cant help it and people are usually nice, can see it isnt your fault and we go on. Get it fixed, maybe not as soon as we would like, but it is the kindness of people who know you are trying that helps so much. I think Terry is really trying, and people should try to help. Ole Nib was a little premature in his dig at Terry without knowing facts. Things happen out of our control, even to Ole Nib. Keep up the good work Terry, and I think we should try to help him get equipment that will make it easier on him. Go Terry.

Get some better play by play men then what you have, then spend some money. Surace and Miller suck.

I found some headsets at a website called BSWUSA.com. They have several including a set by Sennheiser model HDM280. $239.00 a piece. Their description sounds like what you need. With emphasis on canceling background noise. Though I have no idea what kind of connectivity you need. pin plug XLR or what. It'd be nice if we could get something going before tournament time. Let us know.

yeah some come with differnat connectors.. the ones that we have to get have a 3 pin XLR(for the mic) and a 1/4 plug for the headphone part.. Been going all over trying to find the right kind.. at the cheapest price...I looked at the HMD280 and those are the type we are looking to get once we get more funding.. Hopefully the guys going TOurnament will help out.

THanks
