You're Invited To A Show of Wellsville Christian Solidarity

The Committee to Save the Immaculate Conception Church cordially invites all their friends and neighbors to join in a show of solidarity and prayer. Every Saturday afternoon at 4:30 members of the Immaculate Conception Church hold a prayer service in front of the Blessed Mother shrine outside the church that they have been locked out of. They are in the process of appealing the Diocese's decision to merge the parish with the East Liverpool parish and the closing of their beloved church in the village.

On Saturday, October 1, plans are to form a human chain, holding hands, and completely surrounding the church. It's a show of Christian solidarity asking the Good Lord to intercede on behalf of the Wellsville Catholic parishioners to have their church reopened.

You are invited to join in the prayer service no matter what faith you hold close to your heart...

I just wish the Yungstown Diocese would permit us to join the Steubenville Diocese. You would think they would want to get rid of us "troublemakers". The ICC committee is more active now that the church is closed because we have better leadership. It is very clear that Fr. Peter and the Diocese wanted us to fail so they could justify closing our church. By the way, St.Al's(Holy Trinity), as of Sept. 25th are looking at a deficit of $ 18,915.86.

That would probably take whatever the Canon Law equivalent is to an "act of Congress". It would be nice since the Franciscans offered to help us with holding a weekly service in Wellsville. Remember it was reported they were told to mind their own business when they inquired with Youngstown.

It is said "figures don't lie but liars sometime figure". You have to wonder which category that deficit falls in. Remember how the Immaculate Conception books went from having a very healthy balance in the black to being in the red in just a short time? Youngstown didn't want an audit done on the books. We suspect they were afraid what they would find and that it would become public. The Youngstown Diocese wants to save face since they had to do some serious damage control. In the meantime they keep a buffoon at the helm.

Lord help us...
