WHS Lady Tigers Lose By 2

Thursday – February 3: The WHS Lady Tigers hosted the McDonald Lady Devils this past Thursday evening in the Tiger's Den. The Lady Devils came to town with a 6&10 record which is deceiving. Their six victories were all ITCL wins. It's a tough league.

Wellsville entered the game on a four game losing streak and came within one bucket of changing that. They gave McDonald everything they could handle and at the end of three quarters were leading by 10 points. Then the Lady Devils poured on the defensive pressure in the 4th quarter and it took a tad too long for the Lady Tigers to adjust. They lost to McDonald by a final score of 50-48. The loss drops the Lady Tigers to 7&9 on the season.

Mikyla Tipton got back to action coming off an ankle injury suffered in the East Liverpool game last Saturday. She sat out the Western Reserve game this past Monday. Tipton shared game high honors with a McDonald girl with 14 points. Irene Kiser got back in touch with her 3-point range hitting on three of them. Kiser finished the night with 11 points. Tipton & Kiser were the only two with two digit totals for the Tigers on the evening.

The WHS Reserves also lost the opening match by a score of 51-42. Shartece Taylor scored a game high 10 points.

The Lady Tigers were to travel to Toronto today, Saturday, February 5. They travel to Sebring on Monday.

The tail spin has slowed way down. Time to turn it around. Good luck Ladies...
