WHS Alumni All Stars

Last night witnessed this fall's edition of another stellar performance of the WHS Alumni (& future alumni) All Stars lip sync variety show. This show was dedicated a tribute to the late Ron Daniels & Paul Siriani who were both very talented members of this entertaining group. It was another sold out house with folks standing along the walls. If you missed it you missed a very enjoyable time.

The skits covered numbers from gospel to comedy from selections from a 1936 Shirley Temple film to some not quite traditional Christmas tunes on up to more modern times. Once again the All Stars did an outstanding job. Many times you lost track that they were lip syncing.

Pictured above is some of the pictures I got. You can click on them to enlarge.

Thanks All Stars for the good time. You guys rock!

Hey Nib,
just wondering since I don't live in the ville anymore, but was this show held at the Macdonald school gym/theater? Just wondering. I don't know if the new High school has a theater in it or not.

Thanks

As always, they did an outstanding job. I wish, however, that they would have added more recent songs, other than oldies. But they were still good. I love to see Aaron and Mitch dance. This year's performance didn't allow much dancing for Aaron. I'd like to see his Michael Jackson version again. Anyone who hasn't had a chance to see them at all, it's well worth the $6 for a ticket. Way to go alumni and future alumni.

The shows are held at the new high school in their combination cafeteria/auditorium. It has an elevated stage and terraced sitting area at different levels. I'm thinking the seats in the back are actually a little higher than the stage. At any rate there is not a bad seat in the house. McDonald is now privately owned.

Aaron did the moon walk from one side of the stage to the other at the very beginning. I would have loved to see Mitch do another Jackie Wilson number. Mitch did that split Wilson & James Brown use to do. It's a complete split to the floor and getting back up without using any hands. That is extremely difficult. Tried it one time myself. It still hurts just remembering that!
