Starting Monday morning, August 10, 10th Street Extension will be closed for two days to begin the $70,000 drainage & repair project. The project is to repair & replace the drainage system for the hillside run-off and replace approximately 500 feet of the road surface.
Mike Pusateri, of Pusateri Excavating, advised the first thing they are going to do are the drains. Then they will strip off the old road surface, lay down fabric and a stone base. They expect that to take up Monday and most of the day Tuesday. After that the road will be reopened to one lane traffic with a flagmen maintaining the flow of traffic.
Near the Springhill Cemetery entrance this section of roadway has been in deteriorating condition for sometime. Many drivers traveling west bound often go left-of-center through this curvy part of the street creating a potentially very dangerous situation. Being classified an emergency the Village was awarded a $60,000 grant from the Ohio Public Works Dept. toward the cost of this project.
Pusateri Excavating was selected to be the contractor for this two week job. Mike Pusateri said with any luck the completion of this project should take a little less time than that.

Let's hope they can avoid breaking any water lines.
