Wednesday - January 6: The Village Zoning Board held an informational meeting this past Wednesday. The purpose of the meeting was to determine if building plans for adding a garage to an existing Main Street house was within the allowable Zoning regulations.
According to Zoning Board Chairman Jack Call there is a potential buyer for the Main Street house that advised the Zoning Board if he does purchase the property he wanted to build a garage. Prior to Wednesday's meeting garage specifications and dimensions were submitted. Members of the Zoning Office checked out the regulations. Call said plans for the garage are well withing the limits specified in the Zoning codes and the possible buyer was advised of such. Should the transaction go through the buyer or his contractor will only have to purchase the required Zoning permit to put up the garage.
Call also advised there will be a Zoning variance hearing held Tuesday, January 19, at Village Hall, for any input on changing an Aten Avenue house from residential to commercial status. An EL businessman has already purchased the property and intends to open a satellite place of business in that location. That meeting is scheduled for 5 P.M.
