Tuesday - November 10: Shown above is Village employee Kevin Fullerton hanging one of the decorative Christmas banners that adorn the main drag. Taking advantage of some of the nice weather and getting ready for the annual Christmas parade the Village began preparations for the jolly old elf.
The parade will take place Saturday, December 12, and gets started at 6 P.M. It will go from Village Hall up to the 4th Street Square. The parade is sponsored by Wellsville's Chamber-of-Commerce and Parade Chairwoman Vickie McCombs tells us things are beginning to come together. There's still time to get an entry in the parade. Santa is already lined up, taking time out of his busy schedule to make an appearance. Entry forms are available at Center Pharmacy or you can contact Vickie at 330-532-4149 for more details.
On behalf of the Chamber, Mayor Joe Surace announced at the WAMA breakfast Tuesday that they are looking for some of Santa's helpers to assist in doing some more decorating in town. There's a load of decorations stored in the basement of Village Hall and others from some of the merchants in town. Hopes are to really dress up the town's store fronts and gazebo in the festive Christmas decorations. Right now Chamber members are working out the details and forming work parties to do the decorating. If you can lend a hand give Randy Allmon a call at 330-843-3475 or the Mayor at 330-532-2524. They might even serve hot chocolate and sing you some Christmas carols!
Sorry 'bout the sad picture. It wasn't very cold or raining Tuesday but it was an overcast, gray day. I had to really lighten it up to be able to see something.

Its sad that the parade couldn't be held eailer because its so dark at 6. You can't really see any of the people marching or the floats. I think they should think about that because the street lights are spread so far away from each other here in town.
Too bad the christmas flags are hung on the wrong side of the pole!!
