As the nation celebrated the 233rd birthday of American Independence there was a good crowd of folks enjoying the last day of the 4th Annual Elks Riverside Reunion right here in Wellsville. The WHS Class of '84 had a 25th Reunion and for some reason the Class of '80 seem to have a mini reunion every time the Elks hold this bash. From my vantage point it appeared everyone was enjoying themselves.
From the Legends ceremony, the entertainment to just providing a place for the folks to get together it was well organized and seemed to go smoothly. The Committee that put in the long hours with all their efforts should be proud of their accomplishments. Although sponsored by Elks Lodge 1040 it is a community event that many of us look forward to each year. We're not alone. More and more each year people from all over the country come back to the ville to enjoy the festivities.
That committee is now wrapping things up with pictures and videos that will be on-line on their web site. Susie, of Haugh Designs, has already got five slide shows ready for viewing. We've shown a lot of pictures and Susie has even more. Still to come is Hootch2's actual videos that were shown on the big screen. Just go to http://www.theriversidereunion.com/, skip the intro and click on "photo album" to see the pictures.
Next year is the big one - the 5 Year All-Class Reunion. Plans are uncertain what the Elks are doing but some of the committee members tell me they will be working with the Alumni Committee for the 2010 reunion. Whatever comes about I'm sure it will be a good fit. We'll try to keep you posted of all plans once they get it set up.
Thanks to the Elks and the Riverside Reunion Committee.

Thank you Nib for being our voice and our friend. It's been tough to get the word out about what we've been trying to do with this reunion. Money is tight, sometimes help is scarce, and it's easy to get discouraged. Our main goal is and will continue to be, when you come to the Riverside Reunion, you will feel something. Maybe sadness at times, happiness at seeing a long lost friend or image on the screen. But we want people to reflect on who we are. We've been lucky to have found you and your forum to help us along the way. So thank you for being a part of our mission. Sincerely, hootch2
