Old Man Winter Calls On The Ville

We have had some snow around here this winter but I believe this is the first significant accumulation we have had so far. It started yesterday afternoon and then took the night off only to resume this morning. They were forecasting 6 - 8" of the white stuff for today but it doesn't look like we got that much. Instead of rambling on I'll let the pictures do the talking.

All these pictures were taken around noon today. You can click on any of them to enlarge.

If I was a school kid I would be upset. With a late Friday and Saturday snow there's no school cancellations. Use to look forward to those days way back when!

Great pictures! When it's summer and we're discussing how hot it is we can look back and remember this day.

Beautiful pictures, even though
I hate snow. I saw in todays Riverstyle an article about the flood wall project. I have know most of the folks on that committee and socialize with most. I was surprised to see that Mr. Saracco has, from what I can gather from knowing the members well, set himself up as Chairman of the project. That has never been my impression. I am going to check it out with the other members. If Mr. Saracco is Chairman, my apologies.

If anyone is out and about with their snowblower will you check on 602 Main????? With my Dad gone now don't know who is blowin them sidewalks clean :) Thanks for the pics Ole Nib!!!!

About the murals. Our group recently purchased a mural to painted at a later date. We started out working with Jim, but soon went to someone else on the committee to get it all worked out.
I don't think he is chairman. The committee does a great job. Just look at the project. But I don't think Jim is the driving force there.

I thought the pretty lady named Cindy was in charge of the wall stuff. I bought a tshirt feom her at the Italian festival last summer. I would love to buy a mural and have a great idea for one but just no money to buy it. I would have Rock Springs park painted.

The big talk in town is over the article on the flood wall which appeared in Sunday's paper. It would be interesting to hear what the Ville has to say about the article. The article was done solo by Mr. Saracco. There is no chair as the committee's only project is the flood wall at this time.

Thanks so much for taking the time to post pictures, share information and generally just doing what you do!
Great pictures for the ones out of town to see if they're missing snow!

I think one of the main reasons that Saracco was prominently named in the floodwall mural article was simply because he was the only one interviewed.

Well,
If he had notified anyone and I mean anyone on the committee as is protocol, he wouldnt have been the only one interviewed. And that is right, there is no chairman of the project. It is our only project and there is no chairman of anything. We have officers, which Jim is one. He should not have went out on his own and given the interview. It was just wrong.
